We bought Wiggles because we felt like Missy needed a friend. Spoiler alart, she did not need a friend.
We got Wiggles from Cats Protection and originally called him Pogo after he jumped on the kitchen counters as soon as he was let out of the cat carrier. It was also very apparently that he was an excellent thief – he stole the pickle out of our housemates sandwich (also on the first day) but that he was a terrible getaway driver. He would steal food and then ‘hide’ by walk three feet away. He wouldn’t even go under a table.
List of things he’s stolen (including but not limited to:
- A link of 3 sausages,
- A slice of pizza
- Chicken drumstick from someone’s BBQ.
- Sheep bone from the bin.
- The corners off crackers (but only the corners).
- My nieces nap snack.
When we babysat my niece when she was 2/3 years sold, she had what we called toast naps. You’d sit her in her car seat, give her some toast or a sandwich and she would fall asleep. Wiggles would wait until she was asleep, then steal her toast.
He’s also allergic to grass pollen and himself, so he’s permanently grotty. He once got a tiny nick on his ear and now doesn’t clean it (even though he hurt his ear over 4 years ago). He’s 12 but looks ancient. He looks older than Mr Brown.
He has caught a bird but he didn’t really know what to do with it and I’m not entirely convinced the bird didn’t just drop dead and fall out of the sky in front of him.
